CrossRoad Engineers is looking for an experienced engineer to join our bridge group. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong technical background. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for client interaction and career advancement. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Indiana.
Responsibilities and Duties
• All phases of design of new bridges including conceptual, preliminary and detailed using pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
• Mentoring and development of staff.
• Ability to handle pressure and work under tight deadlines.
• Client communication and budget tracking.
• Coordination and communication with state and federal regulatory agencies.
• Manage and oversee staff working on varied tasks (including subconsultant), manage and direct project execution including adherence to scopes, budgets, schedules and implementing quality control procedures.
• Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Knowledge of local and state design and construction standards and procedures.
• Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
• Creates feasibility studies by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental. impact studies and assembling data.
• Possess strong professional work ethic.
• Works independently and with a design and construction team.
• Exhibit effective communication skills with project team, agencies, and clients.
• Possess positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
Qualifications
• Degree Required: B.S. Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer license in Indiana
• 5+ years of experience in bridge engineering
• Experience working with both local municipalities and INDOT is a plus but not a requirement.
• Strong and effective communication, including written and verbal skills.
• Strong analytical skills with sound foundation in civil engineering techniques and skills, logical application, and attention to detail
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
